G.J. Gardner Homes has been operating in the Tauranga district since 1998 and is independently owned and operated by Shane & Kirsty McConnell of Shaker 2007 Ltd. In 2019 Tauranga was split into two businesses, Tauranga North and South, to better serve their customers.

Shane has a background practicing law and property development, before moving into sales consultancy and project management roles. While Kirsty’s background is in marketing, advertising, and graphic design.

Together they could see the advantages of belonging to a franchise building system, with the buying power, quality, value and speed of building that G.J. Gardner Homes had to offer and purchased the Tauranga franchise in 2007.

“Our customer testimonials are our best indication of our performance and local reputation. We also have customer who can open their homes for those looking to build with us, and will happily answer any questions you may have about their experience of building with us” – Shane & Kirsty McConnell

Our Tauranga South office covers a large area in the Bay of Plenty region from Whakatane through to Matamata, and including all of Tauranga and the Western Bay south of Cameron Road and S.H.23. Welcome Bay, Pyes Pa, Papamoa, Te Puke are just some of the areas that they build in around the Tauranga South district.

Feel free to drop by to chat about your new home journey and discover for yourself why more New Zealanders trust G.J. Gardner to build their homes year after year than any other builder.

From March 1st 2012 changes to the Building Act 2004 mean that building work of homes affecting the structure or water envelope (as when building new homes), will be classified as Restricted Building Work and is required to be carried out by competent, appropriately licensed building practitioners. At G.J. Gardner Homes, all of our franchises operate within the requirements of Licensed Building Practitioners. If you require any further information about licensing please click the logo above to go to the Licensed building practitioners (LBPs) website website.
