About Far North

Since 1998 G.J. Gardner Homes has been building homes in the Far North.  The franchise is owned and operated by Tom and Linda Loosley of AG Construction Ltd.

Born in Russell in the Bay of Islands, Tom returns to his Northland roots as the new owner of the Kerikeri franchise. With deep family ties to the region, his family has been part of the local hospitality scene since 1980. Tom brings both a personal and professional commitment to the community and its growth.

With 15+ years working in sales - 8 of those leading teams in the SaaS space - Tom has built a solid track record helping businesses grow, guiding high-performing teams, and finding smart, practical ways to solve challenges. He’s helped launch new tech into fresh markets, grown customer bases overseas, and worked closely across sales, marketing, and customer success teams to make sure everyone’s pulling in the same direction.

Having spent most of his life in Auckland, Tom recently made the decision to return north and invest in the construction industry, motivated by a desire to build something meaningful in a region close to his heart. He brings a strong commercial lens, a passion for people and process, and a focus on long-term, sustainable growth.

Outside of work, Tom is a keen outdoorsman who enjoys spearfishing, hiking, and skiing. He’s also an avid supporter of rugby league and cricket, and enjoys being actively involved in the local community.

Joining Tom on this new venture is Linda, who brings a sharp eye for detail, a love for problem-solving, and a genuine passion for property. With a background in business analysis and operations, she’s all about building smart systems and finding practical ways to make things run smoothly for both businesses and people. In her current contracting role, Linda helps organisations meet business requirements by using technology to bridge the gap between strategy and execution.

Known for her calm approach and love of structure, Linda is all about doing things with care and intention. She believes good business is built on trust, clear communication, and doing what you say you’re going to do. Whether she’s running a project or fine-tuning a process, she brings a thoughtful, people-first mindset to everything she does.

She’s got a soft spot for travel, books, and the outdoors, and whether she’s hitting the hiking trails, skiing, or tinkering with a spreadsheet, she’s always on the lookout for ways to learn and improve. Linda’s excited to help build homes that are not just beautiful but thoughtful - and to be part of a team that’s all about delivering quality and care for local families.

From March 1st 2012 changes to the Building Act 2004 mean that building work of homes affecting the structure or water envelope (as when building new homes), will be classified as Restricted Building Work and is required to be carried out by competent, appropriately licensed building practitioners.
