A bit about us
The Tauranga South office has been independently owned and operated by Shane and Kirsty McConnell since 2007 under the company name of Shaker 2007 Ltd, of which they are both Directors. They are 100% locally owned and operated and are proud to support local businesses. We are locals building for locals.
In 1995 Shane began his professional career by practising law in Hamilton, in the family and civil litigation arena. He then made a move into housing and focused on property development in Waikato for 10 years. Shane also worked in the new home building industry as a sales consultant and project manager, before purchasing GJ Gardner Homes Tauranga franchise in 2007. Shane could see the advantage for his customers of belonging to a franchise building system, with the security, buying power, quality, value and speed of building that GJ Gardner Homes had to offer.
Kirsty had been in the marketing and advertising industry for 21 years from 1995 to 2007. Kirsty owned and operated her own graphic design business. She has now turned her hand to home design and interiors, and is a working Director in the company focusing on Sales Management, Marketing and Communication.
They believe the key factors in creating a home that is just right for you are communication, understanding and teamwork. They will respect and understand your individual needs and unique requirements when building a home.
The GJ Tauranga team, having built more than 900 homes, and with more than 150 years of combined industry experience in their core staff base alone, has a wealth of local building experience to offer you. “Our client testimonials are our best indication of our performance and local reputation. After each customer has settled into their new home, they are contacted independently to complete a survey that rates our performance as a company. We have a completed form for every home we have built since we started, and these are readily available to view on request. This transparency gives customers peace of mind before they make an investment. We also have clients who can open their homes for those looking to build with us, and will happily answer any questions you may have about their experience of building with us. Discover for yourself why more people trust GJ Gardner homes to build their home than any other builder”.
“The strength of the G.J. Gardner brand, combined with our local reputation for exceptional quality builds, keeps us firmly in place as a favoured new home builder here in the Bay”
– Shane and Kirsty McConnell
We build from Matata through to Cameron Road. From the beach to the top of the Kaimais. Papamoa, Welcome Bay, Pyes Pa, Te Puke and Paengaroa are just some of the areas that we build in around the Tauranga district.
Call in or a coffee and discuss your ideas with our team, we'd love to meet you!
From March 1st 2012 changes to the Building Act 2004 mean that building work of homes affecting the structure or water envelope (as when building new homes), will be classified as Restricted Building Work and is required to be carried out by competent, appropriately licensed building practitioners. At G.J. Gardner Homes, all of our franchises operate within the requirements of Licensed Building Practitioners. If you require any further information about licensing please click the logo above to go to the Licensed building practitioners (LBPs) website website.
