Since 1997 we have built over 10,000 homes in New Zealand
The G.J. Gardner story began in 1983 with Greg Gardner starting his building firm based on the principles of uncompromised quality and value. He built homes designed to meet individual customer’s needs within a committed time frame and quickly established a great reputation.
The formula was such a success that G.J Gardner Homes grew to be Queensland’s largest home builder and in 1995 Greg decided to franchise the business with locally owned and operated offices using the same proven formula to build quality homes across Australia.
In 1997, enterprising New Zealand builders seized the opportunity to bring the successful formula here, and G.J. Gardner Homes almost immediately was on the path to success. Their vision was to become a team revered for their integrity, commitment, dependability who delivered great homes and an enjoyable building experience to all customers.
Just four years later, in 2001, G.J.’s had grown to become New Zealand’s favourite home builders, building more homes than any other housing company.
2014 was a big year with G.J. Gardner Homes celebrating construction of their 10,000 home in New Zealand. A huge milestone which would not have been possible without such a great team following the same great principles of building homes designed to meet individual customer’s needs with uncompromised quality and value.
And today internationally G.J. Gardner Homes has built over 28,000 homes with franchises operating across New Zealand, Australia and also U.S.A. G.J.’s continue to build a reputation for reliability and for being an organisation that both our customers and suppliers can trust. We continue to live by our vision:
To have every customer recommend us to their closest friend

Sponsorship
G.J. Gardner Homes are proud of their many projects, which promote NZ communities. Here are some of the organisations we’re currently supporting.

Ronald McDonald House Charities®

Ronald McDonald House® becomes a ‘home-away-from-home’ that is essential to families’ well-being, offering warmth, comfort, and a safe haven at some of the most difficult times in their lives.
Since opening the first Ronald McDonald House in 1989, they have provided much needed practical relief for over 4300 families each year free of charge – arranging a place to sleep, organising family meals, and being a friendly ear to listen on tough days.
As a social impact driven organisation, RMHC® New Zealand relies on the support of the entire community in order to provide this vital service to New Zealand families. G.J. Gardner generously supports Ronald McDonald House Charities New Zealand to help keep families together when they need each other most.
Auckland Rescue Helicopter Trust

Over this period the service has completed some 15,000 accident free missions and it has evolved into New Zealand’s only full time, 24 hour a day, air rescue service. The type of work that the helicopter carries out, is as diverse as the geography and the people, with which it serves. In short this is a service which is available anytime, anywhere, to anyone.
Big Buddy

More than 500 boys have been matched with a Big Buddy since the organisation was founded in 1997. Yet there are approximately 52,560 boys aged 7-14 living in solo parent families in New Zealand. Of these, a conservative estimate of 15% (7884) have no contact with their father. These estimates are based on 2006 Census data and overseas research.
Big Buddy has offices in Auckland and Wellington and is striving to have a national presence to ensure they can benefit kiwi boys all over the country.
To get an idea of the positive effect Big Buddy is having, in not only the young boy’s lives but also their mothers and the Big Buddies lives, just start reading the personal experiences under the news section of their website. Countless heart felt stories describe the genuine benefit that all parties receive when working with Big Buddy.
Big Buddy receives 10% of the funding it requires from the government. The remaining to be covered by donations, and charitable organisations and foundations including: Todd Foundation, NZ Lotteries, The Trusts, ASB Community Trust, and Lion Foundation.
Big Buddy is a "Registered Community Service Provider" by Child Youth and Family. To learn more about what Big Buddy are doing, to donate, or volunteer, visit their website.
