Ronald McDonald House Auckland Business Club

Ronald McDonald House Auckland is a ‘home away from home' for New Zealand families whose seriously ill children require medical treatment at Starship children's hospital. They provide shelter and support for these families who must travel to Auckland because the treatment their child requires is not available in their own community.

Families with children in intensive care are also provided with emergency accommodation in the Ronald McDonald House Family Room located inside Starship, when even being five minutes away from their child is too far.

The House and Family Room are run by the RMH Auckland Trust which is a 100% community charitable trust. The trust comprises of two representatives from the wider New Zealand community, and two from each of the following five partners:

Auckland District Health Board
The Child Cancer Foundation
Heart Children New Zealand (1995) Accommodation Trust
Ronald McDonald House Charities (the philanthropic arm of McDonald's in NZ)
Rotary Club of Downtown Auckland

Since the opening in 1994, over 33,000 families from all over the country have called Ronald McDonald House Auckland their home away from home. The RMH Auckland Trust through its staff and partnerships actively fundraises throughout New Zealand to achieve the $2,300,000 per annum it needs to run the facilities and support its families.

G.J. Gardner Homes supports families with sick children through the Ronald McDonald House Auckland "Home away from home" Business Club.
